Silver Lining Studios staff are on a high-note after being hailed recycling champions by judges, following their work with recycling programme provider Every Can Counts.
The music, recording and rehearsal studios, located in Denton, Manchester, won the Green Can Award in recognition of their recycling efforts since starting the Every Can Counts recycling programme back in 2013.
Since then Silver Linings Studios has recycled over 4,000 cans, saving enough energy to a boil a kettle over 12,000 times.
The independent business also encourages customers to bring in and recycle empty drinks cans from home, as well as those purchased on the premises.
Denise Ashworth, manager at Silver Lining Studios, said: “By working with Every Can Counts, a free to use recycling programme provider, we have managed reach out to the community of local bands and musicians in Manchester who use our studios, and help them to start recycling. We are pleased to say that responsibly disposing of empty drinks cans is now the norm at our studios, and would like to thank everyone involved who has made winning this national award possible.”
Jamie Cameron, programme manager for Every Can Counts, said: “Silver Lining Studios has done a tremendous job at spreading awareness and ensuring that recycling is now normal practice. We hope that more businesses, both large and small, in the Manchester area will also become inspired to work with the Every Can Counts programme and work towards achieving a better and more sustainable future.”
The Every Can Counts Green Can Awards recognise businesses and organisations that have gone above and beyond to improve their recycling efforts.
